Nurse pride will be on full display during MNA’s 2018 Day on the Hill.
MNA nurses from throughout Minnesota will show their pride in the nursing profession and advocate for patients at the March 5-6 event in St. Paul.
Day on the Hill kicks off Monday, March 5, with a reception featuring legislators, dinner, and inspiring remarks from MNA’s endorsed candidate for governor, Rep. Erin Murphy. It’s a great opportunity to network with your colleagues from all corners of the state and be inspired for 2018.
The evening program also features comments from MNA President Mary C. Turner and MNA Executive Director Rose Roach. Nurses will learn about sharing their stories with legislators and nurses’ top issues in the 2018 Legislative Session.
The March 5 events are at the Intercontinental St. Paul Riverfront Hotel, 11 E. Kellogg Blvd., in St. Paul from 4-9 p.m.
On Tuesday, March 6, nurses take direct action on behalf of patients and the nursing profession by going to the Capitol and telling their stories to their legislators.
Buses will shuttle nurses from the Intercontinental St. Paul Hotel to the Capitol and back beginning at 7:15 a.m. for appointments with legislators.
At 1:15 p.m., Attorney General Lori Swanson will host an open house in her office in the Capitol.
The day caps off with a rally on the front steps of the Capitol at 1:30 p.m., where nurses will make their voices heard on behalf of patients and access to quality healthcare for all.
