Wednesday, October 21, 2:00 p.m.– 4:00 p.m.

Labor Education Specialist Kathy McQuillan will present STEWARD TRAINING: INVESTIGATORY MEETINGS, designed to prepare MNA stewards with the skills to represent their fellow members in disciplinary and investigatory meetings.

Wednesday, October 21, 4:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m.

Labor Education Specialist Kathy McQuillan will present STEWARD TRAINING: STEP-ONE GRIEVANCES to prepare stewards with the skills to manage the Step-One grievances at their facilities.

Thursday, October 22 and Friday, October 23, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

GUEST INSTRUCTOR AND MNA MEMBER TAMMY NEIMAN Ph.D., RN-BC, PHN will present this two-day Palliative and Hospice Care class. Using the End of Life Education Consortium curriculum, nurses will receive an overview of important aspects of palliative and end of life care including symptom management; ethical and cultural significance; and loss, grief, and bereavement; and final hour considerations. You must attend both days to receive nursing contact hours.

Thursday, October 22, 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

GUEST INSTRUCTOR Dan Dorval will present Financial Planning for Nurses Under 45. Dorval & Chorne Financial Advisors have worked with MNA nurses for over a decade to provide the MNA Financial Wellness Program as a member benefit. This class will introduce you to the basics of planning for your financial future and more about the services available to you as an MNA member from Dorval & Chorne.

Friday, October 23, 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

NEW CLASS: Succeeding as an MNA Steward. MNA Labor Education Specialist Kathy McQuillan and Lead Labor Relations Specialist Tim Olson will present this training, designed to help all stewards succeed in their day to day role as a workplace leader while continuing to build their own skills in leadership, organizing, and communication. Instructors will share best practices on navigating this role as you work with our members, other stewards, and management.
