Do I have to be an MNA member to apply for a scholarship?
No. MNA Foundation Scholarships are available to MNA members, associate members, nursing students, veterans, and children, dependents, or grandchildren of MNA members in good standing.
How do I become an associate member of MNA?
Visit mnnurses.org/join to become an associate member of MNA. All associate members are eligible to apply for associate member scholarships.
Where should I have my college or university send my academic transcript?
Your college or university can email your Official Academic Transcript to education@mnnurses.org or by mail to MNAF, 345 Randolph Avenue, Suite 200, St. Paul, MN 55102.
What do my recommenders need to do?
Ask your recommenders to complete the “MNAF Scholarship Recommendation Form” located at mnnurses.org/scholarships
How do I know if my application was submitted successfully?
When you submit your online application, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please contact education@mnnurses.org.
When all components of your application have been received (application, recommendations, and transcript(s)), you will receive an email. If you have not received this email confirmation by June 12, contact education@mnnurses.org.
Will I be notified if my application is missing a component?
No. Applications and required components are not reviewed for accuracy and completeness until the application review process commences in July.
The onus is on the applicant to ensure all components submitted to the MNAF Board are accurate and meet the standards outlined in the scholarship criteria. If, upon final review, it is discovered that additional information is required to complete your application, you may be asked to submit additional materials.
The MNAF Board reserves the right to toss out applications found to be inaccurate or incomplete upon final review.
How will I be notified if I am awarded a scholarship?
Scholarship award notifications will be sent via email and regular U.S. Mail by mid-August.
How will a scholarship check be issued?
MNAF will only issue scholarship checks to both the student and their educational institution, not to the student alone or to a third party vendor.
How many scholarships am I allowed to apply for throughout the course of my studies?
MNA members are eligible to receive a maximum of two scholarships total as an undergraduate student, and two scholarships total as a graduate student.
