(St. Paul) – January 24, 2025 – Nurses of the Minnesota Nurses Association today announced their endorsement of Doron Clark for the Senate District 60 special election of the Minnesota Senate.
Endorsed candidates are recognized for their leadership and collaboration with nurses to address critical issues affecting both nurses and patients. To earn nurses’ endorsement, candidates must show dedication to MNA priorities, including resolving the nurse retention and patient care crisis, opposing the growing corporatization and consolidation in healthcare, and advocating for workers’ rights to a collective voice that upholds dignity and respect in the workplace.
Nurses in the screening specifically cited Clark’s commitment to worker dignity and support for nurse priorities such as mandatory staffing ratios in hospitals and opposition to the national nurse licensure compact.
Nurses Care, Nurses Vote
MNA endorsements follow screening sessions where nurses pressed the candidates for their commitment to key issues for nurses and patients. Following screening sessions with the candidates, recommendations for endorsement were approved by the MNA Political Committee and Board of Directors, both comprised of elected nurse members.
MNA nurses will encourage fellow nurses and the public to elect endorsed candidates in 2025 through phone- and text-banking, door-knocking, digital advertisements and more.
