MNA invites nursing students to participate in MNA’s Nursing Student Day on the Hill on Tuesday, March 3, 2025. This event is combined with MNA’s Nurses’ Day on the Hill, where students get to network with current bedside nurses, shadow meetings with legislators, and explore how advocacy goes beyond the bedside.
During the morning advocacy program, students will learn about how to advocate for patients in the halls of power and how nurses can work to get laws passed that improve patient care and the nursing profession. Breakfast will be provided.
In the afternoon, students will travel with their assigned group to the Capitol and shadow nurses in meetings with legislators. During these meetings, students will learn more about the political process and how nurses can influence policies governing nursing issues. All attendees going to the Capitol will receive a lunch voucher.

Morning program location: Intercontinental Saint Paul Riverfront, 11 E. Kellogg Blvd., St. Paul, MN 55101.
Afternoon meetings: Minnesota State Capitol. Transportation between the hotel and the Capitol is provided.
