Nurses are making clear that they want elected officials who will show up with actions, not just words, to put patients before profits. Elected officials are in a unique position to hold hospital executives accountable to patients and nurses; we need to hold those officials accountable to us. To build accountability with candidates, we need to build electoral power among nurses. As hospital executives are cutting checks to candidates and whispering in elected officials’ ears, candidates need to hear our voices and feel our power, so they remember who they are accountable to.

MNA members will be composing hand-written postcards to fellow nurses in targeted districts to ask for their support of MNA-endorsed candidates.

Note: Additional pension workshops targeted to RNs just entering the profession, and those with many years to retirement will be offered by MNA in 2022, primarily at work locations.
