PARK RAPIDS, Minn – (June 26, 2026) – Nearly 70 nurses with the Minnesota Nurses Association at CHI St. Joseph’s Health have voted to ratify their contract after several months of negotiations.
For nurses, this agreement reflects a shared collaboration between frontline caregivers and hospital leadership for patients who rely on critical care in greater Minnesota. The agreement became final after nurses reviewed and voted to ratify the tentative agreement.
The three-year contract includes protections to benefits and recognition of highly skilled nurses—helping to preserve the uniqueness that has made Park Rapids a place where patients can receive critical care from caregivers who value staying in their communities.
Key wins in the contract include:
- Preservation of existing health insurance with no increased costs to percentage nurses pay
- Annual certification pay for specialized nursing skills
- Improvements for bereavement leave language
