The U.S. Census Bureau recently reported that nearly 50 million people had no health insurance in 2010, the highest number since the statistic was first collected more than two decades ago.
Bemidji nurses have formally approved a contract offer from Sanford Bemidji Hospital, ending nearly six months of contract negotiations that included informational picketing and a strike vote.

Wow. Nearly 900 open and unfilled RN shifts at SMDC in Duluth over the past month! The hospital said as recently as yesterday during negotiations that staffing is just fine as is!

Today was our seventh bargaining meeting with management of St. Luke’s hospital. In our meeting today it was made totally clear and the statement was made from management, “The buck stops here.” It stops with management.
