Essentia Health Surgery Center-Miller Hill Nurses Vote to Ratify Contract Agreement

Nurses with the Minnesota Nurses Association at Essentia Health Surgery Center Miller Hill voted unanimously to ratify their contract, concluding less than one month of negotiations with hospital leaders aimed at addressing safer working conditions and sustainable wages.

This agreement marks the first successor agreement between MNA Miller Hill nurses and Essentia Health. The agreement became final after nurses reviewed and voted to ratify the tentative agreement, highlighting the importance of nurses committed to improving patient care who undergo surgical care or specialized procedures.

“The ratification of this tentative agreement is the result of advocating for patient care and nurses,” said Lindsey Tuve, RN and Negotiating Team Member. “We’re proud of gains and continue to build upon the successes already achieved in order to retain the excellent and highly-skilled group of nurses we currently have.”

The ratification marks a transition from negotiations to contract enforcement and continued advocacy.

Miller Hill nurses remain committed to defending patient care and improved working conditions with the support of MNA. Nurses will continue to use their voice at the table to advocate for their patients, profession and the community.
