Nurses with the Minnesota Nurses Association at Aspirus Lake View Hospital voted to ratify their contract, concluding six months of negotiations. Nurses remained unified on preserving existing insurance and retirement benefits as well as improving equitable wages—ensuring workforce stability and retention remains consistent for high-quality patient care in Two Harbors.
The agreement became final after nurses reviewed and voted to ratify the tentative agreement, underscoring the importance of bedside nurses having a direct and democratic voice.
“After a lengthy negotiation process, nurses have voted to approve a tentative agreement that represents a strong step forward,” said Renee Lasky, RN. “By voting to ratify this agreement, it reflects fair and reasonable compromises on both sides of the table. This hard-won deal is the result of creative collaboration focused on supporting nurses and the patients we serve.”
The ratification marks a transition from negotiations to contract enforcement and continued advocacy, affirming the role of nurses as active participants in their workplace and in the care they provide.
