Labor Door Knocking Event - SD41, HD41A & HD41B
Saturday, Oct 8 2022, 10:00am–Saturday, Oct 8 2022, 12:00pm
Location: USW 11-00418 (8839 96th St S, Cottage Grove, MN 55016)
Join your fellow MNA members in Building Political Power!
Nurses are making clear that they want elected officials who will show up with actions, not just words, to put patients before profits. Elected officials are in a unique position to hold hospital executives accountable to patients and nurses; we need to hold those officials accountable to us. To build accountability with candidates, we need to build electoral power among nurses. As hospital executives are cutting checks to candidates and whispering in elected officials’ ears, candidates need to hear our voices and feel our power, so they remember who they are accountable to.
MNA members will be joining their brothers and sisters from the Minnesota AFL-CIO’s Labor 2022 program to canvass labor households about MNA endorsed candidates. Nurses will have the opportunity to talk with voters about issues you face at the bedside. MNA staff will train everyone before the canvass begins to ensure you have all the tools for meaningful conversations. Snacks and beverages will be provided. You will pair with another nurse or MNA staff during this event.
Register here or by contacting MNA Political Organizer, Cameron Fure, at 651.252.5028 (call/text) or at Cameron.Fure@mnnurses.org.
