Qualifications: Single parent, at least 21 years old, with at least one dependent; accepted to or enrolled in baccalaureate or masters program in nursing in Minnesota or North Dakota. Nursing student applicants must be Minnesota Student Nurses Association (MSNA) members. RN applicants must be MNA or MSNA members. Priority will be given to active MNA or MSNA members.

Sarah Colvin Social Justice Scholarship

Award: $2000*
Qualifications: MNA member seeking baccalaureate or graduate degree in nursing with an interest in social justice. Selection based on nurses who document evidence of advocating for individuals and groups harmed by inequities, environmental exploitation, discrimination, and oppression. Examples of social justice issues may include, but are not limited to working with the mentally ill, impoverished, abused, or elderly.
*Scholarship awardees are eligible to reapply for one more year of funding by completing a new application form. Funding is limited to two (2) years each per baccalaureate and graduate scholarship.
